How to Take a Screenshot on Mac

Taking a screenshot is one of the essential skills when using PC or Laptop. In the previous post, we have guided you How To Screenshot A Specific Area On Your Screen In Windows 10. It is very easy to have a screenshot in Windows 10 because the function is already integrated into Windows. Similarly, the screenshot command is also integrated into macOS and you only need to know the group of command keys. However, different macOS version has its group of combination keys. For this post, you will know how to take a screenshot on Mac with High Sierra and Mojave.

How to take a full screenshot on macOS

Press Command + Shift + 3

Tips:

  • Press Command +Shift + 3 at the same time and release those buttons.
  • Once releasing the keys, you will get a full-screen picture in PNG in Mac OS X 10.4 and higher.
  • The PNG file is saved automatically to your desktop.

Press Control + Command + Shift + 3

If you want to move the picture of your entire screen to the other place instead of your desktop, you just press Control button together with Command + Shift + 3. Then you paste it (press Control + V) to anywhere that accepts your image.

Tips:

Press Command + Shift + 4 and release. Then tab Space button. Then, your arrow (cursor) changes to camera icon.

At this time, single click on the window that you want to save.

2. Screenshot of the touch bar

Press Command + Shift + 6 and release.
