Summer is coming, and we are all excited to go on specifically adventures with our beloved ones. But finding a destination is only half the battle. If you plan to travel long-distance, it’s never a pleasure because you have a lot of things to prepare for anything inconvenient happens. Here are some tips you should know to make your long-distance travel more comfortable.
For All Kinds of Travel
Determine if this is a long-distance journey: A trip is considered to be long if it takes you more than 8 hours on a flight, 6 hours by trains, and 4 hours by cars. Because of the long time it takes, you will need special preparations to prepare everything carefully for your trip.
Be excited about your trip: What you think is what you get. So instead of discouraging yourself with the long journey ahead, focus on all the amazing things waiting for you at your destination.
Wear comfortable clothes: Choose a casual T-shirt and pants with a wide, flat waistband that helps you sit comfortably for a long time. Don’t wear flip flops, high heels or tight-fitting shoes as your feet will be sore.
For Traveling by Planes
Don’t sleep too much: No matter how long your flight takes, you should sleep a maximum of 3 hours. Oversleeping is not good for your body, and even make you feel jet lag after the trip. Instead, try to have some light conversation or walk around during the flight.
Don’t wear perfume: Avoid wearing perfume when taking a long flight because it might provoke allergic reactions. Imagine sitting next to someone who put too much perfume; it makes your 8-hour flight so much longer than you expected.
Exercise during the long hour flight: It doesn’t mean that you’ll have to stand up every 10 minutes just to walk around or go to the restroom. You can exercise your muscles and joints in your seat. Don’t forget your legs, shoulders, and neck – these are parts that need to be carefully cared for when sitting motionless for a long time.
For Traveling by Automobiles
Plan a detailed route: Note the locations of restaurants, rest stops, and fuel stations. It’s vital to check your GPS if it works smoothly. You should check on your route any place you will stop for food, water, and make sure your automobiles have enough fuel to get there.
Bring all kinds of entertainment: Music is always the best solution to dispel fatigue when traveling a long distance. Consider choosing the type of music that makes you feel relaxing instead of being drowsy.
Prepare for emergencies: You need to pack with you an emergency road kit when planning to travel by automobiles. Make sure you have the necessary skills to react immediately to any emergency that occurs on the route.
Take a break after every two-hour driving: This is the most important thing you need to remember when choosing to travel by automobiles. Taking a break, eat some snacks, drink water, and only return to driving when you’re ready.
