How to Make Mulberry Syrup At Home

Mulberry has beta-carotene (precursor vitamin A), thiamin (vitamin B1), vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K1, folic acid, potassium, iron, etc. Also, this fruit contains quite a lot of polyphenols, alkaloids, flavonoids, quercetin are excellent antioxidants for the body.

Making mulberry syrup or mulberry soaked in honey is easy to follow, follow these instructions:

Ingredients:

  • Ripe mulberries: 2kg
  • Sugar: 1 – 1.2 kg
  • Large strainer: 1 piece
  • 1-litre bottles: 3 bottles
  • Glass jar with lid capacity of 3 litres: 1 jar

Note: Remember to align the sugar so that the top layer is the sugar so that the mulberry will not get mouldy. Close the lid tightly, tap on the jar to mix the sugar into the mulberry. Also, keep the mulberry jar in a cool, clean place.

Step 4:

You marinate the mulberry like that for about 1-2 days. When the sugar dissolves, use a small patch for mulberry secretion. Then, pour the jar of the mulberry mixture and sugar water into a large pot, bring the fire to the boil evenly. After boiling, adjust the heat to low and cook for another 15-20 minutes, turn off the heat and allow to cool. Note that while cooking mulberry syrup, stir it gently so that it doesn’t sink to the bottom of the pot and burns.

Step 5:

While waiting for the mulberry syrup to cool, strain it through boiling water and wipe it off with a clean towel.

Step 6:

Once the mulberry syrup has cooled, strain the straw syrup with a sieve. Pour this syrup into the bottle to preserve.

You should keep the mulberry to make mulberry jam. To have a mulberry jam with bread or biscuits, you put the mulberry in a blender to smooth and pour out the marinade with sugar until the sugar dissolves, then put on the kitchen into a jam. If you want to have mulberry jam to snack, you marinate the mulberry with sugar. Then, wait until the sugar dissolves, and bring back the slugs for the hunt.

How to make mulberry soaked honey

Mulberry soaked in syrup is a refreshing drink that is not only delicious but also has an exceptional aroma.

Ingredients:

  • Mulberry: 1.5kg
  • Delicious honey: 1 litre
  • Large strainer: 1 piece
  • Glass bottles: 3-5 bottles depending on the volume
  • Glass jar with lid capacity of 3 litres: 1 jar

Some steps:

Step 1:You wash mulberry as instructed in how to make mulberry syrup above. After washing, spread the mulberries on a tray and let dry.

Step 2:After the mulberries have dried, put the mulberries into a glass jar, pour in the honey, cover, and leave in a cool place for easy observation.

Step 3:After soaking for 2-3 days, if you notice any signs of swelling or fermentation, you use wooden or bamboo chopsticks to stir mulberry and honey together and transfer the jar to a cool place. Do not place the pot of mulberries in high temperature with sunlight shines on so that the mulberry does not ferment too quickly.

Step 4:After soaking mulberries with honey for about 7-10 days, use a filter to get the juice. Pour mulberry juice into glass bottles, keep in refrigerator cooler for storage and regular use. Part mulberry, you left to make mulberry jam.

Step 5:To make mulberry jam, you add about 1/2 kg of sugar to the mulberry body, gently shock to sugar and mulberry mix well, quickly dissolve. After the sugar has dissolved, pour the marinated mulberry mixture into a pan, the slug over medium heat for a delicious mulberry jam.

1. Choose mulberry

You should only choose to buy ripe mulberries that have turned black, do not buy bruised mulberries. They look lacking in tension. Because this mulberry has a unique aroma and produces the highest quality syrup.

2. The secret of delicious mulberry syrup

Pour the mulberry syrup or honey juice soaked in the cup, add water to drink and then add a few ice cubes to use. Besides, you can also add a few drops of lemon juice to add flavour to the syrup.

To get a cup of shaved ice syrup for babies, you need to grind crushed ice, put ice into the glass, gently press the ice to compress tightly and pour the syrup on top. Also, you can put two strawberries in half to decorate a cup of sugar for your baby.

3. Storage

Mulberries contain tannin. Therefore, absolutely do not use metal tools such as copper, iron, aluminium to soak, marinate or distil. You should only use glass jars to soak mulberries, glaze pot, glass or earthen pot to cook the syrup.
