Cold Brew
Cold Brew coffee is one of the most different ways of not using hot water for coffee. Many people misunderstand Cold Brew is an iced coffee. However, Cold Brew is a way to make coffee with cold water for a long time of 24 hours, especially the period of implementation does not include incubation time is from 20-25 minutes.
General method when brewing Cold Brew coffee is soaking the ground coffee powder in cold water, then letting it stand, not impacting and cooling for a long time (at least 12 hours) to extract all coffee essence get high. If done correctly and left cold enough for enough time, coffee after finishing is sometimes even stronger than the familiar ways of making hot coffee.
How to make Cold Brew coffee is not too difficult, before the end of the shift, you can make a jar in the refrigerator. And the next day there will be a coffee pot ready to serve customers.
Ingredients Preparation
250gr coffee
1 liter of water
Coffee grinder, glass jar, glass cup, stirring spoon, sieve, the food filter paper
Steps to Make Cold Brew Coffee:
Step 1:
Grind 250gr coffee at the raw level (level 5, 6). If you don’t have a coffee grinder at home, you can go to coffee roasters and buy coffee beans, then ask them to grind it on demand. You do not need to finely ground coffee because it will be soaked in water for a long time.
Step 2:
Divide the coffee into two equal portions, add half a cup of coffee with 500ml of water to a large glass jar and stir well, let the coffee “rest” for about 5 minutes.
Step 3:
After 5 minutes, continue to add the remaining coffee and 500ml of water at average temperature, stirring well.
Step 4:
Close the glass jar containing coffee, then put in the refrigerator compartment for about 12-24 hours. Depending on the amount of coffee used, the cooling time can be long and short.
Step 5:
After 24 hours, take the coffee pot out, put the sieve on the mouth of a second vase, and slowly pour the coffee down to separate the residue with the water. After the coffee flows down, remove the coffee grounds, don’t press down the coffee to release the water.
Step 6:
After the coffee flows through the sieve, continue using the dipped food filter paper on the third glass jar. To fix the filter paper, clean the filter and place it on a new bottle, why then put filter paper inside.
Step 7:
Pour the coffee through filter paper to continue filtering for the second time and wait for the coffee to flow down.
You can drink cold coffee Cold Brew with sugar or fresh milk as you like. Cold Brew coffee should limit mixing with condensed milk to avoid adverse reactions to the digestive system.
Drinking coffee brewed with Cold Brew method will be more digestible because the coffee balance is balanced between sour and bitter. At the same time, coffee has been cold-brewed from the beginning, so you can easily bottle and preserve coffee for longer than standard coffee types.
NOTES AND FREQUENCIES WHEN COLD BREW
The fineness of pure coffee powder:
The first factor and note is the fineness of coffee when Cold Brew. The smoothness of coffee seems to be one of the most critical factors for every mixing. Cold Brew is no exception. For cold Brew, you will need to prepare raw ground coffee, not finely ground. However, the more coffee powder, the better.
I repeat, your coffee powder must be CRYSTALLY. Because if your powdered coffee is smooth, it is easy to make mistakes in extracting coffee too much and leading to coffee being bitter, losing the smoothness that is good of cold brew method.
So if conditions permit, you can equip yourself with a good coffee grinder and grind the coffee powder in raw and evenly. If not, a standard blender is also acceptable and remember to scrape the natural coffee.
Using roasted beans, cheap coffee powder:
Some people think that mixing with this Cold Brew uses a lot of coffee, and this way of making also makes the coffee smoother and softer, not easy to be irritated and uncomfortable. That’s true, but planting trees is fruitful, if you use cheap coffee, old coffee, you will get the corresponding cold brew cups, poor taste and can be said directly bored.
Because when cold Brew, coffee will be extracted its essence without bitterness or high acidity, so what kind of roasted or ground coffee beans have “quintessential” qualities? New to obtain, if not extract what?
At this point, I recommend you have a fascinating thing. We know how to roast, roast medium and light roasted, roasted coffee beans and pure powdered coffee will reveal our inherent qualities (refer to: “Roasting basic coffee: the process of flavor change when roasting”). But if mixed with traditional methods with hot water, coffee will be quickly acidic because of its high acidity. However, for cold brew phases, you will limit the sour taste a lot and comfortably enjoy a cup of medium roasted Arabica coffee, light roasted Arabica without fear of being too sharp.

Patience
Note the third, cold Brew can be delicious; you need to be patient. Do not lack. Since we already know, cold Brew does not depend on hot water, but rather time, coffee needs to be soaked long enough in the water so that the compounds in coffee are dissolved, fully extracted and made into a cup of delicious coffee. If there is no time to remove, your cup of coffee will not taste good. This way is simple and easy to understand.
Rate of coffee and water
The last point, that’s the ratio between powdered coffee and water. For food, nothing is absolute, and cannot be applied as a mathematical formula. The rate for this person is reasonable, but not enough for others. However, usually, the ratio between water and coffee recommended by many coffee companies in the world is 8: 1 or 7: 1 is moderate. However, if you want a darker coffee, you can reduce this ratio, even 1: 1. Try it out, what your taste is, and if you don’t mind sharing the rate you like best with us in the comment section below, we’ll be happy that it shows the article. This way is useful to you.
