We did introduce you to some mistakes which people thought they are good for their brain. Also, we provided several ways to help you improve your IQ well in the previous post. And now are other ways:
Smile – just simple but effective
The brain controls the body, but the body can affect the brain by sending signals to the nervous system. The body and mind work together to create a person’s perception of the world.
Researchers have looked at how the brain analyzes the signals received from the body and suggests some ways to help people improve their minds. According to studies, laughing for no reason will deceive the brain and make people feel more relaxed and happy.
In one experiment, participants were asked to hold chopsticks in their mouths in a way as if the facial muscles were smiling. The researchers found that these participants tackled stressful tasks better than those who did not hold their chopsticks and had no happy facial expressions.
Use your non-dominant hand
You usually use your dominant hand to perform simple tasks that don’t require concentration. But, you try using your non-dominant hand to eat or brush your teeth, etc. Using your non-dominant hand requires excellent attention and creates opportunities for the brain to exercise more.
Extended posture
Some poses make people feel secure. The researchers suggest that some of the body’s extended position and contact surface may even affect hormone levels. Also, it makes people feel stronger and more willing to take risks.
In one study, participants were asked to hold their bodies in different or more powerful poses/power postures and were given 2 dollars to choose to stay or to bet. The results showed that people who hold high positions of power are more likely to bet on twice the money.
The researchers said that although the poses related to strength seem masculine, they have the same effect on women.
Use your body to help you learn
Motion is an integral part of the learning and development process.
Basic steps:
–Drink 1 cup of water. Water will “transmit electricity” from the movement of the cellular body, helping the mind to concentrate and remember.
–One hand press lightly on the navel. The index finger and thumb of the other hand are on two slightly indented areas between the chest and the bottom around the strap. Day three points in a minute, while the eyes glanced from left to right and vice versa, keeping the position of the head. This action helps bring oxygen to the brain.
–Stand, straighten the fan’s left armfrom back to front, touching the knees to the right leg. Then straighten the fan’s right arm straight from the back to the front, moving the bent knee of the left leg. Repeatedly.
–Stimulate positive activity of the mind, including two stages:
Stand or sit. Paws crossed. Two arms down, hands crossed, fingers interlocked so that the thumbs are at the bottom. Then, with the hands intertwined, turn around so that the little fingers are pressed against the chest. Push the tongue up the palate. Close eyes. Completely relax in this position for about 30 seconds to 60s.
Keep your legs crossed, relax so that your feet touch the floor, pressing the tips of your toes together. Touch and open each pair of fingertips. Close your eyes, breathe evenly.
Mental arithmetic
You should practice mental arithmetic instead of abusing computers that support daily calculations. It will be difficult to perform simple calculations in your head when you are older, and you have to “ask” for a computer. Mental arithmetic is a simple way to keep the brain moving.
Short sleep
Sleeping short not only helps the tired brain to relax. Studies have shown that as well as the effect of a deep night’s sleep, a midday nap also enhances memory, learning, and mental activities.
Music
Music therapy and listening habits, playing the piano are an excellent exercise for the brain. Not only does it improve your mental focus, but it also supports long-term cognitive function for the mind and good for physical health.
Many studies show listening to classical music could help infants and young children develop intelligence, improve their skills, and become fluent in the language. Music is also an effective treatment for dementia. If you like a particular song, listen to it many times to help your brain get used to the melody and memorize the theme of the whole song. This will enhance the brain’s memory capacity.
Meditation posture
Putting your body into a meditation posture and deep breathing helps to relax and relax your mind, according to a 2008 study published in the journal Plos One. Posture and breathing will help bring a relaxing effect on the brain.
Perform many tasks at the same time
Doing tasks such as using a computer, listening to music, solving math problems, etc. at the same time requires concentration. All this is usually simple if done individually, but if done at the same time, it will be very confusing if you ignore it. So, this is considered an excellent way to train the brain’s concentration.
Learn a new language
Learning a new language gives you lots of benefits. You not only gain foreign language skills but also help your brain practice daily, thereby preventing memory loss. Learning foreign languages requires you to remember, recognize, understand words and words. That helps your brain function reach new heights. Language learning is a useful tool to help you fight dementia, increase your vocabulary, grammar, and fluency.
Speak by yourself
Studies have shown that people who talk to themselves have a lower risk of developing dementia later. Talking alone, even telling yourself a story, will help delay the process of memory loss, helping you improve your ability to focus on the essential details.
Moreover, talking to yourself is rated as a great emotional exercise. This therapy used to treat Alzheimer’s has been shown to improve memory function by helping you retain more information.
Listen to audiobooks
My hack to use along with physical exercise is audiobooks. And, I am plugged into an audiobook. While exercising, driving, cutting my chores, grass, and just about any other activity.
How to make this work:
- Purchase wireless running headphones.
- Sign up for a free app connected to your local library, e.g.,OverDrive— checkout audiobooks through this free app.
- You purchase audiobooks at a discount through Audible.com. If you are unable to find audiobook free through OverDrive, you should buy the bookshere.
- You download the app (or a similar app)Natural Reader, which is a free text to speech online app allowing people to convert text to audio. Permanently, you can save an online article, a pdf, a word document, and similar files to a sound.
- After you listened to an audiobook for a while, you should try bumping up the speed of the book.
Hone your emotional intelligence
You need to make sure that, regardless of your IQ, you make good use of it. And one of the right ways to ensure that you use your IQ well is to develop emotional intelligence.
Over the years, many aspects have been brought up with intelligence, such as the following:
- Logical skills;
- Mathematical skills;
- Understand similarities:
- Speaking skills
But, it has been demonstrated a lot of people waste their potential by, behaving, thinking, and communicating in a way that impedes their chances of success.
That is, emotional intelligence is being recognized as an esper power that allows you to make the most of your other skills and talents.
Use all your senses
Researchers have found that the human brain learns best through multi-sensory connections. Children and adults learn well when they participate in a learning activity that uses vision, sound, emotions, tactile feedback, spatial orientation, and even smell and taste.
Mike Adams explained in the “Top Ten Technologies” that a child is defined weightless weight in a verbal format that acquires that information in one channel: the audio chain. Here is how to increase learning and retention:
You let your child watch a movie about an astronaut floating in space while you are talking weightless words. Then, you now have a two-way learning experience: the child has just seen and heard the word there.
Also, you bounce your child on a trampoline and shout weightless when the child is in the air. So, the understanding of the word becomes stronger in the brain.
This also applies to adults. You are trying to learn some information. Also, you use many different channels as possible and engage as many of your senses as possible. It makes learning and maintenance easier.
Increasing your brain power will allow you to live your best life. Use the techniques described above to help you increase your IQ, improve brain function, improve your ability to learn and live with the potential of IQ.
