Expanding, building relationships in society and work will bring you many significant benefits. An extensive and reliable network of contacts will bring you sustainable development at work.
Building strong relationships in society and at work is an art, and sometimes we overlook it. Instead, when we come to events, we often fall into the rut: Introduce the name and give out as many business cards as possible. Putting business cards does not achieve the effect we want.
A lasting relationship
Maybe you have a whole list of names of people who have not been in contact for a long time. Those relationships do not work.
What is more valuable is that you have some people you can trust. That people can give us useful advice, in-depth knowledge, to be able to introduce you to other contacts.
The proverb says, “Show me who your friends are, and I’ll tell you who you are,” so the person you trust will be your representative and will do it. Turn on the common traits of both.
Business relationships are built on action, not on promises
No one will trust a speaker who speaks only well, but no action is taken to prove his abilities.
Often relationships in business are established through actions. When the two sides agree to work together, and both follow their promises, the faith is strengthened and sustained.
Most people try to build relationships based on promises, and often reality does not work out what they promised. This is not conducive to our work relationships.
Positive relationships need long-term alignment
You can not ignore someone for months, then come back and ask for their support.
Building relationships in business means you have to take the time to stay in touch with people. See what they are doing, care about their goals and aspirations – and understand what they talk to each other most.
A business relationship is still a relationship. And no one wants to feel are being taken advantage of this. There must be a mutual exchange.
Always give more than you receive
The giving goes a long way in business relationships.
When you ask someone to support you, you should help them a few times before. They may refuse and do not need your help, but it shows them that you care about them and how much you are willing to help them. When they need help, you are very ready to reach out, which is what they will remember, and when you need assistance, they will be more than willing to help you.
Generous giving makes people happier than being received.
Talk about value before talking about numbers
In business, many people place too much emphasis on numbers in conversations. They want to know how much they will achieve before they even think about the project. They want to sign a contract before starting to work together. As a result, the message that they convey is that they are only interested in their profits rather than creating meaningful and valuable works for the project.
Successful business developers will do the opposite. They will prove their worth by talking about their work, talking about how to implement the project. Also, you are often making team members willing to share with them the experiences and knowledge they know. When they find a familiar voice, they will be more likely to succeed.
Show people your inner energy
It is impossible because you are “in business,” so you must not reveal your personality.
In fact, by showing yourself who you indeed are with your unique personality. The easier it is for you to be welcomed into inner circles – and the more willing you are to help you.
No matter how talented you are, how deep your relationship is, or how rich you are. It does not matter because positive energy will attract positive energy. And if you want the doors of opportunity to open up to you, the most important thing is to be humble, grounded, willing to learn, and continuously connected with the people around you.
It takes months, or even years, to nurture relationships. Some relationships require more giving than received before becoming a mutually beneficial relationship.
Part of growing your business understands that patience is just as important as anything else. And to build a healthy, mutually beneficial relationship, you can not expect results overnight.
Always optimistic, love life.
If you are an open person with the people around you, they will feel very comfortable around you. Or, if you show an unpleasant attitude, then people will stay away from you. If you are in contact with people for the first time, you express joy and happiness like those you meet for a long time. Smiling faces will always be the strength to build a good relationship. Communicating comfort and optimism, vitality, and enthusiasm to the people around you will bring you to establishing a sustainable relationship.
Listening will take you further in identifying the most in-depth sounds and messages from the speaker, connecting your emotions with the other person. Listen to what he/she says and the silence in their souls. It means listening more than what they say. Concentrate attentively and listen to the messages conveyed from within and behind their words.
At the same time, listen both with the eyes and with the heart. Pay attention to the appearance and physical state, which are actual states so the opponent will recognize right in communication. So show them honestly and respect them. The inner emotions are felt by the tone and the speed of the voice. Recognize what they want you to hear, and they also want to realize what you are feeling.
Empathy is the basis for creating two good relationships. Understanding is being in agreement with the circumstances of others, regardless of your views and beliefs. Be happy to ignore their mistakes, and you want them to overlook your mistakes. Or let them know your concern and concern for the negligence, not with criticism and criticism. Share their feelings at all times, both when they fail and when they reach glory, motivating them when they are in trouble. An honest and empathetic emotion will reinforce trust in people.
To use empathy effectively, you also need to put aside your viewpoint and see things from the other person’s perspective. Then, you could recognize behavior that appears, at first sight, to be over-emotional, stubborn, or unreasonable as merely a reaction based on a person’s prior knowledge and experiences. There are three stages of empathy:
- Cognitive empathy is being aware of the emotional state of another person.
- Emotional empathy is also engaging with and sharing those emotions.
- Compassionate empathy involves taking action to support other people.
You should give your co-worker your full attention, looking out for verbal and nonverbal clues to help you fully understand their situation. Set aside your assumptions, acknowledge your colleague’s feelings, allow an emotional connection, then take decisive action that will improve their well-being.
Choose wise words. Measure your emotions according to the mood of the opponent. Words can establish or destroy trust. They vary in nuance, meaning, intensity, and impact. So consider when you respond to the opponent’s stories. Praise them, for their experience and understanding they have shared with you. This way shows appreciation and encouragement. Responding can encourage or discourage others. If you have progressive thinking through the expression of your emotions and words, you will create a positive impact in that relationship.
Synchronization and cooperation
A sustainable relationship is always built on the unity and cooperation of both sides. It also depends on the flexibility to adapt to changing plans and goals of large projects. Cooperative behavior will build a trusting bond. They are part of the dedication and create a lasting bonding strength.
Act with integrity
Act right and honestly. When you act with integrity, you are an honest person to yourself and others. You do what you say, that is how to build trust with people. Ask what is what you want in the category of your relationships. Clear up what you will do. Find what you and everyone wants. Acting with integrity will create a feeling of trust and respect. Losing integrity will create a false and insecure person.
No matter how powerful your need, it is vital for entrepreneurs to retain integrity at all times. Running a startup involves taking risks and fresh approaches. Everyone follows you on this path, from investors to employees, needs to be sure that you are leading them with the best intentions.
Find and emphasize the good qualities of others. Compliment their ethical values by expressing your appreciation in their lives and work. If you let people know that they are valuable and unique, they will never forget you because everyone wants to know their exact values. But, especially the good ones — express gratitude and encouragement through sincere words and actions. But do not let their communication permeate your being, be social in your way, and always be yourself.
Humble yourself and give compliments, you will have excellent and long-lasting relationships with people.
Prune, renew, and reshape your networks frequently.
Nourish people relationships critical to your organization carefully and often — push associations whose usefulness has decreased the time into your inactive network.
Regularly identify new relationships that are essential to the future of your business and define strategies to build these relationships.
I offer some points of attention in all relationship building efforts:
- More relationships are not always better. Highly successful business leaders do not necessarily have more valuable networks. Be selective about the associations you form, and listen carefully for situations where you could add value and derive value, and prune the rest.
- Over-investment in relationships could take precious time away from focusing on the technical elements of your business. Invest your time judiciously in balancing the demands of market awareness, new technologies, and future organizational strategy.
- Sometimes secure relationship networks could shut out new people and new thinking, insulating you from new input from the “outside.” Introducing new factors into your system will generate new perspectives, new experiences, and positive change.
The breadth and depth of your relationship networks are more significant to your business success than your ability to define and build the perfect solution.
Also, these relationships allow you to confidently and aggressively take risks, constantly innovate, and recover from losses and setbacks along the way. Your business is a community, not an island. Therefore, you can not run it alone.
A beneficial and sustainable relationship is significant in the working environment and life. Behavior in communication will determine whether or not relationship building is permanent, based on a lasting bond of trust and generosity.
